Mrs. Lila Murchison, 65, pioneer Vernon resident, died Monday at 8 AM after a three day illness from a stroke. Widow of J T Murchison, she came to Deaf Smith Street home years ago, formerly Miss Tina Easterling of Florida. Six children born, two surviving Frank and Lillian of Vernon. nephew T R Easterling of Memphis attends funeral. Burial at East View Cemetery after services at First Methodist Church led by Dr. R J Dickenson. Pallbearers named among family and friends.

Three Injured as Stage Crashes Near Vernon
M W Williford of Wichita Falls driver of the Vernon to Electra stage was seriously injured. G Goodwin of Paducah and Paul Rountree of Paducah suffered injuries including missing teeth, a cut lip, a broken arm, and facial wounds when the stage turned into a ditch at 2 o'clock near A M Zourland's residence.

Farmer Walter Cagle Kicked by Horse Near Vernon
Walter Cagle, a well known farmer living west of Vernon, was severely injured late last week while handling a horse on his farm. The horse kicked him from behind, striking him in the right eye and shoulder, causing a badly raised shoulder and flesh cuts above and below the eye.

Peters Insured When Foot Goes In Press
Otto Peters, a farmer north of Pease River about seven miles, sustained a badly bruised right foot late Friday while bailing on his farm. He caught his foot in the bailer and, in addition to a sprain, part of the flesh was torn away. Peters was brought to Vernon and his injuries were dressed.

J P McCaleb aged 76 died suddenly at his home five miles southwest of Vernon after a night of illness. A Confederate veteran, he served in Camp Cabell and moved from Waxahachie to Wilbarger county thirteen years ago. He is survived by his widow and four sons, with funeral planned at his Lockett area home. Interment at Eastview with active pallbearers including his sons and grandson.

Demonstrations show water poured around the timer while the motor is started by knee or foot cranking and water poured again as the motor runs.
