Elmer Citizens Seek Bridge Location
A Jackson county delegation from Elmer Oklahoma urged Vernon Bridge Co to locate the north bridge at Orient crossing rather than Downs crossing, citing congressional permission and direct line to Vernon and Alms. Officials said Deans and Orient crossings are similar in river width and costs, and promised further talks with more county representatives. A plan meeting is set to discuss route and imminent Red Bluff construction with 60 to 90 days to start after stock subscriptions justify a contract.
