Telephone rates increased fifty cents on May 1
Vernon residents will see a rate hike for both business and residential lines effective May 1. Manager J W Leak of Southwestern Bell explains business rates rise from 8.50 to 9.00 per month and residence from 2.00 to 2.50, due to rising costs, material and labor surges, and the need to attract capital for extensions.
