Taxpayers face September deadline for fuel tax refunds
Charles I Fox District Director of Internal Revenue announced a deadline of September 30 for filing claims to refund federal excise taxes on gasoline used for farming from July 1 1987 to June 30 1938. Farmers may file Form 2240 to claim 3 cents per gallon. other taxpayers use Form 643.
