Uintah School district employees held their annual institute Saturday at Iron Springs Outdoor Homes. Barbecue was enjoyed. Sherles H Skidmore state sub superintendent spoke on Character Education in Our Schools. A D Mathison chaired the certification committee and discussed teacher and administrator certification issues. 50 Mile Road To Grand Co nears completion

A new fifty mile road from West Beach on Willow Creek east rim to the Grand county line nears completion under James Marr of the Division of Grazing. The Civilian Conservation Corps, Uintah county, and local crews built most of the route, with two side roads, blasting through hills to yield an eighteen foot crown in places. The project links West Bench to Buck Canyon and Buck Canyon to Willow Creek, with plans to connect to Green River and extend toward Mesa Verde and Yellowstone Park areas.

Funeral Rites Held Friday For Mrs Olsen

Elizabeth Emily White Olsen 60 died Wednesday of heart trouble after a three month illness. State Road Heads Meet County Board

At a joint session of the State Road Commission and the County Commissioners in Vernal plans were discussed to complete OT 840 west of Vernal. A four mile project costing 80000 is in the 1939-40 program with realignment to avoid a dwelling and a fox farm. Work to start next spring after winter preparations and right-of-way actions.
