Denver Sept 18 The Moffat tunnel commission awarded the contract for the 606 mile bore through the Continental divide west of Denver to Hitchcock and Tinkler of Ban Tranctaco and New York for 5 260 000 in a fixed fee deal The Balt Lake and Denver Railroad plans to begin limited construction this year to secure necessary certificates of convenience and to connect with the Utah Colorado line when the Utah line is built, estimated at 20 million dollars and 300 miles long.

Governor Maboy has been notified by BA Sherman acting chief for rester of the United States that Utahs portion of federal forest receipts for the year ending June 30 shows 26 percent of the total, totaling 7 463,400 acres within the national forests in Utah. The state gains on revenues from these forest areas less than one tenth an acre.
