A late August to early September storm struck the Vernal area, washing out the upper bridge in Steinaker draw and a gulch bridge near Carless. It flooded Conrad Flatks potatoes and damaged lucern and grain worth nearly $1000, affecting Sabey and Carless farms and Wilsons lucern field. Lightning knocked down three light poles along the Allison Jane, while rainfall totals reached 1 inch in Naples on August 2 and 30 plus inches for August and early September.
