Dam Near Ouray Project Aims for 720000 HP Power
A group led by A L KFarrick of Baitlake proposes a 720000 horsepower dam near the juncture of Minor Maud Creek and Green River south of Ouray. The project would create a Lake Mead sized reservoir backing water to Jensen, powering a 190 foot dam to supply firm power at Boulder. The plan suggests a recreation boom, desilting and regulatory benefits, with potential water transfer from Green River to Bear River and Great Basin.
