Behrman Funeral Attended By Uintah Community

Mrs Luemma Behrman wife of Neils Behrman died after a long illness in Vernal at 1230 Monday morning. The mother of eleven children she lived in Vernal twenty three years and was active in the Relief Society. Funeral services were held in the Vernal Second ward chapel with Bishop Pontha Calder presiding. She was born April 3 1881 in Manassa Colorado and married Neils Behrman December 17 1902 in the Salt Lake temple. survivors include nine children and relatives in Utah Colorado and Vernal.

Homecoming Draws Three Hundred To Dry Fork Friday

About three hundred residents gathered in Dry Fork Mountain Dell for a homecoming with historical sketches old time songs and dancing. Indoor baseball favored Dry Fork Maeser won the afternoon pledge and the Dell married men beat Maeser married men. A picnic lunch followed with barbecued mutton and beef. Special badges honored long-term valley residents many pioneers from Vernal attended and a tribute to early pioneers was read by Mrs Edgar Taylor.

Forest Camp Boxing Bout Draws Crowd in Vernal

Monday night at the Forest Camp boxing event in the Farm Bureau building drew a large crowd from Vernal and Basin. Mickey East vs Joe Postma ended in a four round draw, Clyde Thomas stopped Bozo Adams in one round, Cleon Allred beat Cll Catiwell by decision, Lee Broussard defeated Byron Vircher over ten rounds in a close bout. Referees were Frank Swain Alton Hatch and Cafy Caldwell.

On Tuesday morning a large crew laid the cement floor on the Jensen bridge's first completed span. The cement must cure for twenty one days before forms are removed, then the sides are rubbed down to give a stonelike appearance.

The Davis ward rodeo and dances on September 1 and 2 raised a neat sum for financing the new ward chapel. A fair crowd attended the rodeo and dances on the Green River below the George Blaugh ranch where riding and roping contests pleased attendees.
