Two Car Crash at Vernal Intersection
At 8:35 am Tuesday two cars collided at the intersection of Vernal Avenue and Second South. Damages totaled about 500 dollars. Steven Tate, 16, Uintah High School student, and Paul B Lemon, 35, Vernal barber, were the drivers. Tate, driving northbound, allegedly failed to yield and struck Lemon’s 1940 sedan. Tate’s 1948 sedan suffered about 150 dollars in damage and Lemon’s 1940 sedan about 340 dollars. Tate was cited for failure to yield right of way and defective equipment. Sgt. Sunny Heteh of the Utah State Highway Patrol investigated.

Uintah district schools will offer inexpensive milk with meals under a federal fluid milk program. The Department of Agriculture funds will help purchase milk, enabling a second half pint with meals at about 24 to 28 cents. kindergartners may receive a milk portion for about 25 cents for two weeks.
