Mrs. Flora Thompson Dies at Home in Naples Ward
Flora Mable Thompson aged 46 wife of Fred B. Thompson died at the family home in Naples ward on Sunday at 10 45 p m after six years as an invalid from cardiac decomposition. Born September 19 1889 at Guthrie Center Iowa she was the daughter of Charles A and Nelle Monland Whistler. Survived by husband son Robert McFarland Thompson and her father H one Thompson the body to Palisade Colorado for funeral rites and burial under Palisade Mortuary supervision.

Monument to Historic Ferry Is Dedicated
A large summer crowd gathered Tuesday as the Jensen Maube Ferry monument was dedicated near the Jensen bridge on US Highway 40. Daughters of Utah Pioneers funded and unveiled the marker, featuring native-stone masonry and a cement boat replica of the pre 1909 craft built by Jens Jensen. The monument sits on land donated by Mr. and Mrs. Chas Wise, with the inscription noting the dedication date of October 12, 1997. The dedication program was led by Louvesa B. Hack.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Anderson widow of Swen Anderson were held Wednesday in the Naples ward chapel with Bishop Lavelstanwaring presiding. Choir selections included Oh My Father and Stad Me Gently Home with solos and duets by local singers. Interment followed at Vernal Memorial Park under Swain Funeral Home direction. Survivors include eight grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren among her children Walter Fred Charles Vern Leslie Anderson and Laurence, plus daughters Maude Johnson Pearl Williams and a half sister Mrs. Lucy Cook.
