Juvenile Judge Penalizes Minors Delinquency Case
Last week Judge D C G Sparks of Unitals and Duchesne counties sentenced Lynn Fisher and Denny Halphs both 21 and 24 from Mr Emmons to pay a $25 fine or 30 days in jail for pleading guilty to contributing to the delinquency of minors. Jail terms suspended upon payment of fines.

A rump Republican group calling itself the Liberal Republican with Blind Justice emblem appeared in Utah politics on Saturday. A petition nominating R. I. Moller of Myton for governor was filed with Secretary of State Milton H. Weil ing. Petitioners come mainly from Duchesne and Uintah counties. Moller previously announced candidacy for governor under the Republican banner, but was not placed on the Republican ticket as Ray E. Dillman of Roosevelt was nominated.

Former Vernal Residents Lose Home in Oregon Fire
Word from Joan Jackson of Denmark Oregon reports former Vernal residents George Langston and his wife lost their home and all personal property in a large forest fire sweeping southwestern Oregon. They fled for their lives and sheltered on the seashore for three days as flames roared nearby. Several lives were lost in the conflagration and the family was at times listed as missing. They left Vernal about three years ago and before marriage were Exdlitt Langston.

Deer Hunting Opens October 20 in Plentiful Season
Deer hunting will open October 20, inaugurating a ten day season ending October 30, with daily hours 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a limit of 10 birds. Shooting of certain varieties is forbidden. Pheasant and quail seasons shift to November 8 for four days, with quail four days and pheasant three birds per day in most counties.

Noel Floyd deputy game warden displayed catfish from Green River at the State Fair for the Game Department. The display drew large crowds and noted twelve catfish were involved before a channel cat died on exit. The fish were caught by hook and line and the exhibit boosted interest in the Express subscription.

Mrs Charlotte C McCarrell Dies Suddenly in Vernal
The death of Mrs Charlotte R McCarrell, 28, wife of Owen McCarrell, occurred at 12 36 p m Tuesday after an intestinal obstruction operation performed Monday. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p m in the Vernal First Ward chapel. Born November 14 1907 in Vernal, she was a Uintah High School graduate, married October 7 1927, and leaves two children Jane Lotsie 8 and Lylety G 7, her parents Arthur T and Bessie Corless, three brothers Ray Jessam and Howard, and four sisters Verdalie Manila Marie Lee and Maurine Jacobsen.

Infant Bryson Recovering From Highway Injury
Heth Bryson, 17 months old, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Bryson, is recovering after an auto accident on the way to the east. She fell from a car near Denver as the door closed, was treated at Limon hospital, then Denver, and later returned to Vernal. The child is now gaining strength.

He is noted as a river explorer who navigated the Grand Canyon of the Colorado and descended the Salmon River in Idaho.
