Permit Sought For Power Project In Split Mountain Canyon
The Tribune reports a proposed power project with a fixation plant to manufacture cyanimid and ammonium phosphate. The Vernal Chamber of Commerce backs the plan as boosting resources, cultivating land, and attracting rail service. The applicants seek 5500 second feet from the Green River for power and irrigation, plus 81.6 for irrigation from Brush Creek, with Split Mountain Canyon cited as an ideal site for a 140 foot dam to yield up to 70 000 to 80 000 horsepower.
