Deer Killings On Searle Lands Spark Damage Plan
25 deer were killed on lower Diamond Mountain property owned by Woodey Searle last week. Searle and warden Clairluff reported to Vernal on Tuesday that he had written permission from the Utah State Fish and Game Department. Meat was turned over to game officials. Searle offered to permit a special hunt if the department takes over management and hunter damage responsibilities. An attempt to hold a special hunt has been made for three years with no final agreement.

L. T. Peyton Dies in Denver at 53
L T Peyton 53 premier of L T Peyton Machine Shop in Vernal died Tuesday night in Denver likely from a heart ailment. His wife and three daughters plus son Kintaw Kay Jo and Harold R Gillette family members traveled to Denver that evening. Peyton had lived in Vernal 12 years, ran general and oil field contracting, and earlier suffered a heart attack. Funeral details to follow as family informs. Uintah Dominates B Y High in First League Game Here
By Jack Crawfull Uintah crushed B Y High 200 Friday at home in the opening league contest. Led by Cloyd McCarter and Gary Sutton, Uintah raced to a 20 to 6 victory as Meglor Ulinski opened with a kickoff return for a touchdown. In the second period McCarter broke loose for a TD and Sutton added the extra point before halftime. Continuous miscues favored Uintah as the Utes added their final score late in the game with a strong all around effort.
