Funeral Honors Victim Of Vernal Car Smashup
A Vernal funeral was held Wednesday for Vintha Lou Murray 22 who died from injuries suffered when her car struck a truck slowed to turn left. Her Colorado counterparts Halbert Morehouse 46 and Beulah Morehouse 44 died in the Saturday crash seven miles east of Vernal. The driver of the eastbound truck Israel Justice Clark of Jensen testified the truck waited for a gap in traffic. Murray, born November 8 1935 in Jensen, was married to Blaine Murray from 1954 to 1987. She leaves her parents Ronald Stewart and Tera Lee Stewart, a brother, a sister, and two grandmothers.

Fires Consume Homes in Vernal and White Rocks
Vernal and nearby Whiterocks faced two blazes in one week. Indian Fire Dept. responded to fires at adjacent White Rocks residences. one home and furniture burned, damage in the hundreds. A second home was saved. another brush fire sparked by exploding caps at McCullough Tool Co. property caused an alarm with no injuries.

100 Mile Pipe Line Completed From Red Wash To Salt Lake City
Salt Lake Pipe Line Co completed a nine multimillion dollar expansion of its crude and petroleum price duets system in the intermountain area. PN Johnson of Salt Lake City reported all one hundred miles of new crude transmission facility had been laid from Uintah County east of Red Wash Field to the Salt Lake refining district. The project, tied to a prior looping, added parallel transmission lines starting near Red Wash Field.
