Orpheus Hall Opens In Vernal With Promising Acoustic Design
The Orpheus auditorium in Vernal opens to the public with a large, well finished space. It features light green walls, cream ceiling, and a design aimed at excellent acoustics. A prominent balcony houses the ticket office and skating equipment. The hall measures 52 by 116 feet and cost about $15,000, with completion expected within the year. Beddo Transport to Vernal in Jail at Meeker
Dan Beddo, famed horse thief and forger, is jailed in Meeker Colorado after a telephone report to Sheriff Richard Pope. Deputy Nichole of Rio Manco County reportedly led the arrest, with C B Atwood Jr. and other officers escorting Beddo toward Vernal. The party plans to meet in Rangely and arrive in Vernal by Sunday. Also, Miss Mary Sturgeon of Willcox Academy won a debate on whether Vernal is better with women or without.
