Funeral Held Tuesday For Basin Pioneer
Funeral services for William Giyman Caldwell veteran of three Sanpete Basin communities were held Tuesday at the Lapoint ward chapel with Bishop George Hacking officiating. Interment followed at Maeser cemetery under Swain Funeral direction. Caldwell, sixth child of Matthew Caldwell and Breslin Cyman Caldwell, was born in 1851 and lived through early Mormon settlement era, recalling the Black Hawk War and service aiding temple construction.

Uintah county officials announce a new start schedule beginning Monday. High schools will dismiss at 3:45 pm and elementary schools will follow the adjusted times, aligned with bus arrivals. Superintendent Grant West says students will finish an hour earlier than now, freeing time for farm work.

Funeral Held for John B Bryson in Vernal
John Brough Bryson 83 died Monday at his daughter Mrs Robert Thorne Jensen’s home after injuries from a 1937 automobile accident in Chicago. Born in Glasgow Scotland October 26 1880 he immigrated in 1887. Survivors include two sons Robert M Bryson Los Angeles Arnold M Bryson Chicago and two daughters Mrs H H Nelson Los Angeles and Mrs Thorne. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11 am at Swain Funeral home officiated by Rev J W Hallwood. Burial in Jensen cemetery.

Hayden Mother Dies in Salt Lake Hospital
Mary Cloward Oberhansly, 44, of Hayden Utah, died in a Salt Lake hospital Tuesday morning. She was born August 3 1885 in Galem Utah, daughter of Joseph E Cloward and Rachel Spencer Cloward, and survived by husband Vered H Oberhansly, her mother, and many children and grandchildren. Funeral services set for Neola at noon today.

Two Kearns Men Face Charges at Craig Cole
Two Kearns men Nilliam Doty and Charles Bart soldiers stationed at the Kearns Army base were arrested in Roosevelt by Highway Patrolman Samuel Hatch. They were taken into custody by the sheriff of Craig Cole after allegedly burglarizing Westles resort two miles east of the Utah coast in Colorado on 14440. They were named as two of four soldiers who recently went AWOL and rented a truck at Ogden, heading for Denver, with officers across western states on the lookout for the vehicle and the other two soldiers.
