Independence Road easterly link eyed by county board

County commissioners met November 4 and 1 to transact routine business. They corrected land assessments for W L Fletcher and W H Burton, accepted resignations, approved bonds, and tabled or reduced several tax and assessment items. They discussed a highway from Independence toward Liejd road and a bridge permit near Brown's Park.

Two young men from Verna pled guilty before Justice Lybbert for disturbing a Sunday meeting and were fined 7.50 and 960 dollars respectively. Ashley Reservoir Company Stockholders Levy Ten Percent

A special meeting of Ashley Valley Reservoir Company stockholders in Vernal was chaired by J. M. Shaffer with Etarden Bennion as secretary pro tem. Officers kept, and a ten percent stock assessment approved to settle debts, payable to George A. Davis by December 15. Reservoirs lie in Dry Fork country near Baldy Mountain, with capacity to irrigate 45 000 acres. cost not to exceed 10 000. Five hundred seventy five shares at five dollars each have been subscribed. The annual meeting is the last Saturday in December.
