Funeral Services Thursday for Louisa Shiner
Funeral services for Louisa Nell Shiner 68 of Vernal are set for Thursday at 1 pm in the Vernal Second Ward Chapel. She died Monday at Uintah County Hospital of a heart ailment. Born September 30, 1888 in Park City, she was a daughter of Chauncey Huse and Annis Peters Shiner. Survivors include five brothers Robert, Neldon, Orial, Deward and Alson, all of Vernal. Friends may call at Vernal Mortuary Wednesday evening and at the home of brother Orial 141 West First Street Thursday morning 9 to 3 pm. Burial will be in Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery.

Four oil and gas discoveries announced in Uintah and nearby counties within three days. Curler Oil Company reports a find at Blue Bell Unit No 2 twelve miles northwest of Roosevelt, eight miles from production. Continental Oil reports a 4 million cubic feet daily gas flow at Chaplin Wells No 2 near Vernal. Delhi Oil cites an indicated discovery near Moab.
