Flaming Gorge Reservoir Rise Signals Milestone Project
The Flaming Gorge development nears a milestone as the diversion tunnel is closed after eight logs are installed to seal the outlet works. The new reservoir will hold about four million acre-feet, span 1 mile, and reach Green River Wyoming. The bypass valve will carry 400 second feet for a month while water backs up. The project costs exceed 70 million dollars and the tunnel will be permanently closed next winter. The suspension bridge near the dam area has been moved, and the route now runs from the Manila side.

Young Burglar Caught After Break-In in Duchesne

He rode in a car stopped by Trooper Ronald Wilson during a routine check and carried about $300 in cash. A 1380 Chevrolet station wagon rammed the rear of a 1057 Plymouth that had stopped to unload a school bus Wednesday at 3 50 p m near Roosevelt. McKee, 17, of Tridell, drove the Corvette style car. passenger Marleen Hoopes, 15, Whiterocks, injured. Van, 32, Ft Duchesne, drove the Plymouth. Damages estimated at 300 to the McKee car and 125 to the Van car. McKee failed to note the stopped car. school bus not involved. Vehicle left 51 feet of skid marks, then 61 feet after impact.
