Second anniversary marked at Utah Field House of Natural History
The Utah Field House of Natural History celebrated its second anniversary with opening events on Oct 29. Since opening, 68,343 visitors have toured the museum with 40,121 in 1950 alone. University groups nationwide visit for geology, zoology, botany, and archaeology, including Colorado School of Mines graduate students. Vernon Fire Department debuts a new 12,000 dollar engine from New York, delivered on the GMC chassis, with 600 gpm pump, 1000-foot hose, ladders, and fog nozzles.

Local Girls Given Posts at Meetings Of Jr. Red Cross
A Uintah county delegation joined about 600 attendees in Salt Lake City for a regional Junior Red Cross leaders conference. Topics covered included community influence, human relations, school coordination, and defense roles. Uintah reps Beatrice Stringham, Myrtle Lambert, Merlene Davis, Janet Christensen, and Jolleen Swann held secretary roles. Don Worthington spoke on European Red Cross collaboration. The drive runs November 1-15 with plans for exchange albums and gift boxes.
