The White Rocks School held a May 13 festival with kindergarten through sixth grade performances including How Do You Do My Partner and The Girls Left Behind Me. May 18 featured a dance festival with Ten Pretty Girls and several grade level numbers. An after program fish pond and games followed plus a field trip to Vernal Dinosaur National Monument and Green River plant grounds with a rain return. Creed Receives Chicago Odontographic Society Award
Marion Robert Creed of Olney Illinois a senior at the University of Illinois Dental School is one of three four year dental students from Chicago schools to win the Odontographic Society of Chicago award worth 100 dollars. The three other winners are Duane Wardle Grant Richardson and Brent Preece. Don Anderson Harold Rust and Vincente Manzanares do not have pictures. Creed earned the toast for successful patient treatment. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Chris Creed Vernal and will graduate in June. He attended Olney schools and Southern University Carbondale. John Philip Colton Son of Mr and Mrs Hugh W Colton returns June 1 from a West German mission after 242 years. He plans to visit his sister Mrs Robert L Bradley in New Orleans.

Boys State Delegates From Vernal Attend June Session
Fifteen Vernal boys will leave June 4 by bus for Boys State, sponsored by the American Legion Witbeck Post No II. The group is one of the largest sponsored from Vernal, with twelve pictured: Dilly Schaefermeyer, Garry Alfred Grant Durfee, Douglas Cook, Boyd Ashby, Earl Staley, Arvel Tassainer, Terry Tullis, Kirk Jolley, and others.

The Beaux Arts Club held its last meeting of the season on May 18 at the home of Mrs Loyd Shimmin. Mrs Wallis reviewed The Story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria Augusta Trapp. Officers for the coming year were elected: president Mrs Lundell, vice president Mrs Cundick, secretary Mrs Snyder. Fourteen members were served dessert luncheon by Mrs Shimmin.
