120 New Test Wells Seen For Basin Area
About 120 men are expected to start drilling wells in the Basin area next year as gas outlets are assured. Mountain Fuel Supply Co plans a $10 million, 103 mile pipeline from Uintah Basin to a juncture with Utah Natural Gas Co’s line at Clear Creek, Carbon County. The project would unlock shut in wells and spur more drilling over two years, while Mountain Fuel opposes Utah Gas Pipelines Corp’s plan and UT Gas Pipelines withdraws to refile after a hearing delay. Sinclair Oil expands gas reserves development in Uintah Basin and to support the Utah Gas Pipelines Corp project, taking three early drilling commitments. Mountain Fuel continues preliminary work on its pipeline.
