Freighting Conditions Improve on Vernals Price Road

John Nash reports the Vernals to Price road is in excellent shape for freighting compared with the usual rough condition. He notes freighters face high costs with oars at 276 dollars and hay at 80 cents per cwt, while some have cut rates to one dollar per cwt. The Gilsonite Company has refused gilsonite for hauling under these conditions.

High prices at Duchesne cavalry horse auction

Twenty five condemned cavalry horses sold at auction in Duchesne last Saturday, drawing many buyers. Prices topped prior records with some animals fetching 135 dollars each. Most were old or lame, but capable of work once broken in.

Maeser Equitable Cooperative Begins Stock Offering

Maeser Equitable Co-operative Association has secured wide subscriber support and will start business soon. Shares cost 100 dollars with a 10 percent initial payment. The aim is to create a pure cooperative store distributing shipped merchandise and later expand into other fields.
