Vernal Trade Excursion Sets Sights on Lapoint and Ambitious Encampment
The Uintah Club held a Fort Duchesne meeting planning this August encampment on the Uintah river near the historic fort. A three day event will include amplifiers band and options for a pageant play and musical program. Vernal townspeople ran a second trade excursion to Lapoint Tridel and Whiterocks with 27 cars and 250 to 300 attendees. They visited Whiterocks Indian school and fish hatchery and enjoyed luncheon at Clear Creek before a Lapoint dance and program. A welcome address by C A Thompson and remarks by Senator Thomas W. O Donnell highlighted unity between Vernal and Lapoint communities.

Survey Crew Starts Vernal Manila Road Survey
An eight person survey crew from the Bureau of Public Roads arrived Saturday to begin the Vernal Manila road project. They set camp on Little Brush Creek twenty five miles north of Vernal in Ashley National Forest under Mr Eng Heh and will survey the sixteen mile Summit section before construction starts.

Little Dallas Ross of Ioka Passes Away at Vernal
Funeral services were held Friday at 2 pm in the Glines ward chapel for Dallas Ross of Ioka. He was born February 17, 1920, the third son of Mr and Mrs F A Rosa of Ioka. He died May 12 at Vernal Hospital after an operation for appendicitis. Bishop Walter Baird presided. the Glines choir sang There is a Home Eternal and Come Unto Jesus. Speakers included Earl Wardle Leland Pack and Don Batty. The Ioka primary class and deacons contributed flowers. large crowds attended and the remains were laid to rest at AManser cemetery.

Jensen Party Injured When Fractious Horse Overturns Buggy
A buggy overturn near Jensen injures Petry Case and his wife after a runaway horse, guided by rider Charles Murray, collided with the rear of the buggy as they returned from a Sewell radio party. Their daughter Elva escaped with minor bruises. Mrs Case suffered facial lacerations, head injuries, and severe sprains. the rider was also injured.

Truck Crash Wrecks Vehicle Near Vernal Killing Time Friday Night
A Dodge coupe driven by Mrs Abner Richens collided with a Mack truck on Victory Highway about a half mile west of Vernal. The car crossed from a side road, the truck could not stop, the impact overturned the car and truck, injuring Mrs Richens and lightly injuring her grandson. The truck driver was knocked unconscious. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.

Deputy Sheriff Fort Cook of Rio Blanco County is under arrest on a statutory charge in a Meeker court. He shot and killed Mrs Adella Coltharp Miller near Rangely on April 17 and was later acquitted in Meeker. he is bound over to the district court in an $8000 bond. Cook’s arraignment and transfer to Glenwood Springs for trial are recorded as the case moves toward the August term. Cecii Cross, present at the shooting, has reportedly moved to Mexico with his family.

More than thirty producers from Carbon Emery and Sevier counties attended the Utah Honey Producers association meeting in Price. Directors reelected LeRoy Taylor and discussed marketing through the association with six carloads shipped in 1925 and an average price of 86 dollars per hundred pounds. John G Patton of New York continued as buyer for 1926, exporting all Utah honey to Europe, while pollination value of bees noted as essential to fruit crops and alfalfa production in Utah.

Cedarview Irrigation Builds Large Dam Near Uintah Canyon
Cedarview Irrigation Co commences hydraulic dam work on a rockfilled structure about 400 feet long and 45 feet high on the Joho Starr flat circa 20 miles north of Cedarview in Ducheane county.
