School Board Asks For More Time OF Coordinator
The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Education was held Monday with President Ray II Reader, Vice President Andrew Vernon, H. Grant West, E. D. Lewis, Roy Taylor, Superintendent L. G. Noble and Clerk Driver 4 Smith present. Tra Gardner of Jensen asked the cooperation of the board in securing an adequate water supply for the school and LDS church buildings at Jensen. The board decided to make an investigation of the matter. Bishop Gardner was granted permission to use the Jensen school cistern during the summer months. The new rates announced by Utah Power & Light for Ashley Valley were explained by J. F. Anderson, local manager, noting a saving of 4008 dollars per year for Ashley Valley customers. Mr. Vernon expressed appreciation for the lowering of rates. The board made tentative plans to have 120 yards of gravel hauled to the Alterra school grounds, with 60 yards placed by the students and the balance contracted. Mr. Taylor said students should be given an opportunity to work.
