Randietl man escapes drowning after truck rolls into Green River
Edgar Jensen of Randietl narrowly escaped drowning on Saturday when a pickup hauling water rolled into the Green River south of Ouray. He jumped into the cab to stop it, ended up in the river, and struggled to surface before being pulled to safety as bystanders and an approaching truck towed the vehicle from the water.

Two Men Hurt In Oil Field Accident
Kerr McGee employees Jack Mize and Elwood Smith were seriously injured in a field accident Thursday noon. Smith suffered a broken leg and head injuries and was hospitalized in Salt Lake with his wife nearby. his aunt traveled to Salt Lake. Mize was taken to Vernal hospital with a head injury.

Architects Named For Bi County High School
Architects from Salt Lake City were named to design the proposed Union high school to be built jointly by federal funds and Utah county districts near Roosevelt. Russell Todd, Union high school board chair, announced the selection and noted a trip to Washington and the Atlantic City conference. Sen A V Wetkins and Rep W K Granger reportedly expect approval of bills to allocate 250000 of Indian Service money toward a 400000 high school serving Utah Basin Indians and county students.
