Fatal Three Car Crash Unavoidable on Highway West of Duchesne
A three car collision on a slippery highway seven miles west of Duchesne resulted in the death of H. Sholty, 58, of Brigham City. Eldred Johnson reportedly could not avoid impact after braking 300 feet prior. Sheriff’s investigation notes Johnson’s vehicle struck Sholty’s from behind as Sholty stood on the highway. Johnson was unhurt. Sholty and one other occupant were injured and hospitalized. funeral services were held in Brigham City.

Naples Child Struck By Car Sunday
Eight year old Robert Goodrich suffered head aches after being struck by a car on Highway 40 in Naples at 12 15 p m Sunday. The driver A T Hayden was traveling south and the boy crossed the road after alighting from a car on the east side. Patrolman Sammy Ifaich investigated the incident and the child was carried away for treatment.

George Thorne Funeral Rites Held Monday
Funeral services for George Thorne, 89, Uintah County beekeeper and apiarist, who died Friday night, were held Monday at the Kings Congregational Church. Burial was in Vernal Memorial Cemetery with pallbearers his sons and grandsons. He was a pioneer in eastern Utah bee culture and farmed in Ola Ashley Dry Fork and Green River areas. Surviving are four sons, two daughters in law, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
