Banking Reform Plan Urges Federal and State Banks
In a letter to the editor J KR Wilson argues for a national bank housed in Washington with the president as head and cabinet as directors, plus state banks in each capital city led by governors. He advocates currency printing by request, coordinated support between banks, and a system to prevent panics while maintaining federal and state banking autonomy. The piece also promotes farmer outreach and local agricultural lectures to improve farming and market leverage. Alfred Powell signs a second section urging farmer institutes, better machinery, extended cooperation, and practical farming advice.
