Councilman Seeks 14 Percent Cut in Vernal Water Rates
Vernal council debated a proposal by Councilman Dale Jensen to reduce water rates by 14 percent for usage above the minimum, a plan that would ease costs but cause about $6,000 in annual city revenue loss. The motion was withdrawn after council discussion. The draft would raise the minimum to 15 000 gallons for $2.00 and adjust rates at higher tiers, with mixed support from officials.
