County Agent meeting in Roosevelt and Uintah County
A 1937 agricultural conservation committee election meeting is set for March 13 at 2 pm in the Roosevelt Church House for Duchesne County and March 16 at 2 pm in the Uintah County Court House for Uintah County. Utah Legislature Near Adjournment From Long Session
As the Twenty second Utah State Legislature closes, experts predict the Senate will finish by Thursday while the House may extend one more day. Governor Blood has signed 36 measures with many more awaiting engrossment, approval, or delivery by the secretary of state. A large number of bills died or were withdrawn, and labor issues loom large as several labor-related measures have been enacted or await the governor’s action. Former Vernalite in Serious Auto Accident
Reeves Birt of Mesa and a former Vernal resident was in a severe auto accident when his car was struck by a train last weekend. He suffered multiple injuries and is reported in critical condition. Birt was a harness and saddle maker in Vernal. his wife Katie Evans Bird died years ago. Mrs. Jay Pack’s friend has completed her nursing course and earned a diploma from Chicago School of Nursing, now employed at Clark Hospital since its opening last June.
