Vernal Eyes Junior College Plan To Boost Education
Vernal community pushes for a county junior college to replace the freshman year of Uintah academy, forecasting big savings for families and rapid growth of Vernal as a college town. Proponents say a new building with classrooms and a gym would draw students regionally, spur housing demand, and entice future railroad and economic growth in the Uintah basin.

Good Roads to Be Made Through the Valley
County officials and the Goold Roads committee of the Commercial club met last week to apply for 26000 of federal aid to be expended this year. The program foresees about 900000 dollars of federal money for Utah in 1922 with a 26 percent county share and 74 percent for the government. Uintah county cannot take full allotment due to insufficient 1921 state road tax. Plans call for starting at Vernal city limits and likely equal work in both directions. After this year more federal aid is expected as the State road commission has assured we can raise our share.
