New Land Value Schedule Approved For Irrigated Land
Uintah County assessor Eugene K Sundquist reports a new land valuation schedule from the state tax commission will reduce irrigated improved farm land values by about 16 to 33 percent. The schedule follows June discussions in Salt Lake City with land engineer RC Pixton. Tax notices in September will reflect changes, with notable tax reductions anticipated. The county was last appraised 23 years ago and the commission initially found the schedule high for irrigated land. Pine marten value noted as more valuable than mink in California mountains. Vernal discusses reopening Pixton’s matter.
