Protest Meet Set For Curb and Gutter Improvement
Vernal city council will hold a June 18 meeting at 8pm to hear protests on curb gutter sidewalks and street paving planned for summer. City manager LeRoy Taylor says opposition is unlikely as residents largely requested the work. Street numbering and mail service plans require completed numbering and contracted sidewalks before delivery can start. Postmaster Pontha Calder notes Vernal meets postal rules for a mail system if numbering is finished. Estimated street numbering outlay is 3000 for signs and surveys, while the broader improvement program costs about 108000 and aims to finish before winter.
