Uintah Basin Medical society hosts Utah doctors from Utah, Wyoming and Colorado for a two day convention and outing at Green Lakes and Vernal June 29 and 30. Trio Injured in Elk Springs Auto Wreck Near Ward
A three person wreck near Elk Springs five miles west of town left Charles Williams 69 Inez Williams Fryer 22 and Marjorie Walter 18 hospitalized in Vernal. Williams suffered shock and multiple injuries while Walter had a basal skull fracture and cerebral injuries. Fryer endured shock and bruises as the car rolled four times after a blowout during a trip from Ward.

Work Started Paving Twists Project Monday
A crew began paving the Twists project west of Vernal on U S 40. The nine-mile road bed is being graded for asphalt. A thin coat will precede the asphalt, surfacing at about half a mile per day with completion expected before mid July. Over 8000 tons of native rock asphaltum are stockpiled for loading into trucks by steam shovel.
