Hatch Youth 9 Killed In Rope Mishap At Home
Gregory L Hatch nine year old grandson of Mr and Mrs Bus Hatch of Vernal was accidentally hanged in the garage of his Copperton home during a cowboys and Indians game. Found by friend Terry Redmond eleven, the rope tangled around neck arms and shoulder. Deputy Sheriff Paul La Bounty investigated and firemen from Midvale assisted until death. Survivors include parents Gus and Mrs Hatch two brothers Thomas Robert twelve Julie Ann five Tracy three and four grandparents Dus Hatch Vernal and Thomas Marnson. Funeral services held in Midvale yesterday.

Two Autos Collide Injuring Man Near Vernal
Two late model cars collide at a county road intersection one mile south and east of Vernal at 625 pm. Monard Horrocks, 24, operator of a service station, drove a 1957 Volkswagen. Don M. Walker, 34, drove a 1957 Chevrolet. Horrocks sustained a neck injury and was taken to the hospital. Horrocks said he did not see the Walker car in time to stop. Walker claimed he stopped for a stop sign but failed to yield. Total damage listed at $3,000. Walker cited for failure to yield right of way by Lt. Sammy Hatch of the Highway Patrol.
