Oil Worker Pleads Guilty to Knife Attack in Utah Town

A Vernal area oil rig worker pleaded guilty in fourth district court to assault with a knife after an argument with colleague Sheldon King allegedly left him wounded in the stomach. The victim was treated at Uintah County Hospital and released. The men, co workers on the same oil rig, had come to town that night.

Accident Victim Shows Slight Improvement

Jamey I. Smith, a Colorado vacationer injured in a cart crash near Jensen on July 6, has shown little improvement over the past week, per Winish County Hospital. He suffered a basal skull fracture, fractured neck, and multiple abrasions when a vehicle driven by Ronald J Corless of Vernal attempted to pass and collided with Smith's car, throwing both vehicles out of course.
