Captain Jinks Seeks His Horse in Replevin Writ
Captain Jinks of Ouray, an Indian, seeks to recover a horse lost about a year ago. A horse bearing Jinks’s brand was seized by Ira Burton on the Blue Mountain and later sold to Jess McCarrell for ten dollars. Burton kept the horse after Jinks demanded its return, and a writ of replevin was issued, placing the horse in sheriff custody until ownership is decided.
