Smoking and Campfire Safety in Uintah Forests
The Vernal Ranger District reports two man caused fires in Lodgepole Campground and Whiterocks Canyon, quickly extinguished. Fire forester Ron Sanden urges safe smoking and campfire rules including ashtrays, no roadside burning, building fires in clear spaces, keeping them small, and fully extinguishing fires before leaving picnics or hikes.
