Fires Draw Warning From Rising Hazard In Vernal Area
Fire danger climbs as two men caused blazes in the Dutch Jotin region during the week. Forest Service reports that curing heat and dry grass have pushed the fire threat into the extreme category. Rotary Club in Vernal met to assign committees for the new year and discuss fundraising ideas. Visitors include Mr. and Mrs. Johnney Clark of Long Beach spending vacation in Vernal with Mrs. Clark’s mother, Mrs. Clyda Eldredge, and Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Merkley hosting in Provo audiences. The Lindsey family from California and Missouri also spent time in Vernal, tied to Caltech studies and BYU.
