Eldred Hatch Drowns After Flooded Spring Creek Swim
In Vernal, Eldred Hatch age 11, and his brother Boyd 14, rode from Taylor mountain during a rainstorm. Eldred drowned in Spring creek after attempting to cross a swollen wash. Boyd searched and was saved, and Eldred was found on a sand bar after the rescue effort. The brothers were sons of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hatch.

Four Oil Wells To Be Drilled In Clay Basin Utah
A. D. Fish reports The Producers and Refiners company drilling in Clay Basin near Daggett county Utah about 600 feet with a second well planned and a third ordered. A gas pocket was struck at about 380 feet in the active well. The Ohio Oil company may start drilling soon. The Producers and Refiners is a subsidiary of Standard Oil.

W S Henderson a state delegate to the national convention of W O W at Yellowstone National Park says six days of business and needed legislation were accomplished. The event raised insurance limits to 5000, requires naturalized citizenship for new members, and featured 20 bankers and many attorneys. The session cost 65000 with seven drill teams competing for 1600 prizes. Oakland won first, Ogden second, Portland third.
