Flaming Gorge Cables Pose Aircraft Hazard Near Dam
Construction crews at Flaming Gorge on the Green River in Utah are stringing four messenger cables to carry heavier lines for dam work. The Bureau of Reclamation warns these cables, plus existing power lines, create danger for low flying aircraft near the dam and north rim, where concrete is moved by buckets. Acting regional director Wf Carter notes two tail towers and the span above the gorge increase the risk for aviation in the area.
