Local legend Ike Burton longtime Uintah county resident marked his 90th birthday at home in Vernal with Mrs Jennie Powell of Los Angeles. Born in Salt Lake City, he arrived in Uintah county in 1877 with his parents, worked cattle, ran Diamond Springs ranch, ferried travelers across Green River, and recalled Meeker massacre era and early Utah settlements.
