Vernal Chamber of Commerce plans a ewe lamb sale enterprise in Uintah County involving 10 000 to 20 000 ewes for spring sale. Vernal Golf Course Begins As Nine Hole Plan Formed
Preliminary work started last week on Vernal’s new nine hole golf course project led by Salt Lake County Meadowbrook designer Mickey Riley of Salt Lake City. Local investors A P Voorhies Francis Felco Dewey Ross Dr H W Marrs and Lawrence Siddoway head the venture with 95 charter and 90 associate members already signed. The layout features ponds on fairways and a terrace style hillside course with temporary greens planned for season completion.

Last Rites Held For Henry Lee
Final services for Henry A. Lee were held at the ward chapel with Bishop Phil Watking presiding. The ceremony included prayer by Victor Wilkins, invocation by Frank Lewis, and a quartet performance. Burial followed at Vernal Memorial Park under Swain Funeral Home. Lee, born in Tooele Utah in 1883, spent his early years in Ashley Valley and operated one of the first grain cutting studies in the area.

Wheelwright Construction Co. of Ogden submitted the low bids to widen two bridges, Whiterocks in Indiana county and Myton in Duchesne county, for U.S. Highway 40 motorists. The Whiterocks project covers 1.4 miles of construction with timber and concrete over a 20 foot span, excavation, lumber rental, concrete surfacing, reinforced steel, and removal of an existing structure, totaling 18 dollars listed. The Myton bridge renovation amounts to 121,300.20 dollars, extends 0.966 mile, includes a three inch bituminous road surface and concrete work, channel excavation, structure removal, and road obliteration.

Aged Lady Wins $10,000 in Federal Suit
Miz Nelile E Savage an 81 year old Vernal woman won a federal suit against the U S government for 10000 general damages and 1325 medical costs plus 2500 for pain after a defective post office door slammed shut as she entered the Vernal office injuring her and causing a fractured left leg. The judge granted hospital and medical expenses and the verdict notes the Salt Lake City bonist has been on scene since the accident.
