Murdock Secures Funds for Buck Pasture Reservoir
Officials of the Ashley Varley Reservoir company were notified by Congressman Abe Murdock that funds for the Oaks Park Buck Pasture reservoir project had been approved in Washington. Construction to store water for winter and spring use will begin soon, with work around the clock. About 100 yards of earth will be moved this summer as the dam progresses. The project, whose core wall and tunnel are completed, will provide 6569 acre feet of supplemental water for Key Valley farms, enabling larger crops and better yields during midsummer low water.

Roland Williams of Roosevelt Buried Here on Wednesday
Funeral services for Roland Williams of Roosevelt were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the LOB Second ward chapel with E J Winder in charge. Williams, husband of Hilda Belcher Williams, died of a heart attack in Roosevelt on Sunday. Interment followed at Vernal Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife and children Donna, Maritta, Joleen, and Pal. Pallbearers listed as Warren Belcher, Orlan Johnson, Rolland McNnell, Afton Johnson, Bert Hovey, and Leland McKenna.

Funeral Rites for Lizzie Ashton Held on Friday
Funeral services for Mrs Lizzie Ashton wife of Lynn Ashton were held Friday at 4 pm in the Vernal First ward chapel with C S Carter in charge. Interment followed at Vernal Memorial Park with a graveside dedication by President Hyrum B Calder. Born January 27 1840 in Tarimlich she lived much of her life in Ashley Valley and was active in Utopia club and local social circles.

Infant Lost in Ashley Forest Found by Local Friend
A three year old girl of Mr and Mrs Harold Twitchell went missing near Little Brush Creek in the Ashley forest. A search of 25 OCC enrollees from Vernal camp scoured the area for four hours, covering about 2 1 2 miles before she was located by Archie Allen while he was repairing a truck on East Park road near Iron Springs junction. The child, pale and exhausted, had wandered from a fishing trip with her family and was found at 4 30 p m.

Neck Injury After Assisted Relieve Stiffness

WPA Workers Face Longer Hours at Same Pay
WPA workers in the county will extend their work period to 20 days from 10 with a 60 hour week, still paid at the same rate. The shift increases total hours from 80 to 120 for the same pay, with a slight reduction in WPA staff anticipated. Several workers previously laid off at the Dinosaur quarry on June 30 were recalled on July 1. Junior C of C Defeats Lions In Burro Polo
The Junior Chamber of Commerce team defeated the Vernal Lions 3 to 2 in a burro polo and 43 to 2 in a donkey softball night event at the Fair Ground. More than 600 attended as burro polo featured trained donkeys and riders from both sides. Funds from the show were donated to county recreation for night softball floodlights at the Fair Grounds.
