Utah Legislature Faces Busy Week Two of 26th Session
William T Igleheart notes the Utah State Legislature in its 26th session has completed its second week with 72 Senate bills and 68 House bills introduced. Only one bill has become law, a pay raise to $360 annually. Ahead are many pay increase proposals for officials, pension changes, election law tweaks, and a probe into the state liquor control commission. Key lawmakers include Selvoy J Boyer and H H Lunt in the House and Mitchell Melich in the Senate, with Kerr leading a potential inquiry committee. The House elections contest between Mark Paxton and C E Freer awaits Supreme Court action for a declaratory judgment in Bracken Lee vs. Governor Wows.
