Dry Forks Sinks Mystery Solution From Bureau Study
The Dry Fork springs, long a local puzzle, are explained by underground water flow. In 1943 to 1944, researchers from the Bureau of Reclamation and others conducted pits and tests in the Dry Fork drainage. They traced water movement to overburden and near surface limestone caverns, concluding the water continues underground to feed the springs and nearby swamps.
