A Beaver man John Houseman died by his own hand in the sheriff office, his body found about 6 am after a recent mountain ordeal. A separate accident killed a 3 year old girl when she fell from a wagon with the wheel passing over her head. The Committee on Coinage approved Bland's bill by 9 to 8 to direct the Treasury to coin the silver seigniorage and issue silver certificates equal to the seigniorage amount. Immediate $55,156,681 becomes available for current government expenses as certificates are issued. The act provides silver dollars from remaining bullion for redemption of Treasury notes and destroys presented notes on redemption.
