A head on collision between a westbound passenger train No 6 and an eastbound freight on the Denver and Rio Grande near Dorseto Spruce Creek kills Mary Stevens and many others. Mail Man Goes Wrong in Salt Lake City Case
Charles Slade superintendent of city delivery at the Salt Lake City post office was arrested Saturday evening charged with riding the malls. Wr Smith confessed his guilt after months of mail losses and the Special Post Office in Specials have been working to trace the title. Slade was the last suspect and long trusted by the postal department, entering service 28 years ago as a special delivery boy and serving fifteen years as superintendent of deliveries.
