Mr Jarvie, born April 27, 1929 at Lock Springs Wyoming, served three years in the South Pacific with the Army in World War II and worked on the Jarvie ranch at Linwood. Survived by parents Thomas and two brothers Douglas and Alonzo and three sisters Ruth Pamela Linwood and Mrs Harold Nelson.

Utah reports its first highway fatality of the year and Daggett County’s first since 1950. Archie Finch Jarvie, 39, from Tinwood, died when his car overturned several times on a curve east of Manila while traveling from Manila to Linwood. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 pm in Rock Springs Congregational Church. Reverend Mark Carnaby noted the vehicle failed to negotiate the sharp curve and the victim was thrown from the cartwheeling car.
